I've been watching the grandchildren a lot so my time is precious.
I love being there for my grandkids, I learn so much from them for sure, I seriously think they should run the country!
Yesterday I was with my 3 yr old grandson, Colin and 7 year old Ryen. They're both so smart and I never know what's going to come out of their mouths.
I fed them at noon and Ryen (who is a girl by the way) had a pretty good size lunch, after which she asked if she could have an apple. Of course I gave her the apple, but about 1/4 of the way finished she said she was full and couldn't eat anymore and threw it away.
An hour and a half later she texted me (yes, thank you aunt Cici for teaching her how to text!!!) and asked for a snack.
This was that conversation:
Ryen: "Can I have a snack?"
Me: "You can't be hungry!"
Ryen: "How do you know?"
Me: "Because you had a peanut butter sandwich, two breadsticks, and 5 saltine crackers, AND you threw away a good apple!" (She picked out her lunch BTW, she's a carb-o-holic:/)
She started sending me Emoji's of angry faces!!
Me: "I'm sorry you are upset."
We went back and forth sending texts for quite awhile, her begging and me saying she could wait til 3:00.
Ryen: "Can I please have at least one LIFESAVER so I don't (then she inserted an Emoji here with criss cross eyes)!! (How did she know that means your dead?!?)
Me: "If I give you one Lifesaver will you live?"
I gave her one Lifesaver and at 3:00 she got her snack:)
Ah yes! I love spending time with these kids! I love what they come up with!
My daughter and her family are going to Disney for 10 days.....10 DAYS!! I took them to the airport this morning. I HOPE to get as much done as I possibly can while they're gone since I won't have to be a caregiver for those grandkids for 10 whole days!
I do, however, have my grand dog "Penny" for 10 days.....
and she can be very needy:(
I promise to get back to those chairs as soon as I can.
