Taking time for myself.........while I freeze my hiney off:)

I don't know about you, but I am getting sick of the cold and snow!!! I love winter, I do, I love cold cozy nights in front of the fireplace with my hubby and I love how beautiful the snow is, but............ I'm over it for the season!! I didn't think we could have another winter like we did last year, but I think this one exceeds that one by a long shot! The cold and snow that we have had the last two years here in Ohio is reminiscent of the winters we left behind in Iowa. And although I did love a good old fashioned Iowa blizzard from time to time (as long as I didn't have to drive in it) it is the only thing I miss about my home state.

I haven't been working on much the last few months either, I haven't been going out in this cold, at all. I have become somewhat of a hermit, going out only to go and spend time with my grandkids while my daughters work. That takes up more of my time these days since schedules have changed and other issues have come up temporarily so I'm needed more. But I have enjoyed my extra time with them so much! It's quality time that I get to spend with the grandkids before they grow up and get too busy for grandma:)

I have been spending my days just doing things that I want to do for "me". Like going through old photos, you know the ones that aren't on the computer! I need to get them sorted and put them into a photo album. Right now, they are in a tote in the basement and it would be nice to have them organized into books so they are easier to see. I am always trying to get organized, it's a never ending job!

I've also been working on one of my New Year's resolutions............reading more books. I love to read, but I haven't taken the time to read a good book for quite some time. And I miss it, so I decided to make time for it. Even if it's just for an hour a day, but you know that hour turns into a couple of hours because you can't put the book down.

I have been going through craft bins and getting rid of crafting stuff that I just don't do anymore, going through closets again, this time going through stuff that you just don't think about. I have a nice collection of purses, belts, scarves, jewelry etc. that I will take to the woman's shelter. Things that are taking up space that I just don't wear anymore.

I started taking all my clothes and stuff to the women's shelter instead of Goodwill because they need clothes for things like job interviews and work. The stuff that I am getting rid of are all in perfect condition and I want them to go to someone who can use them. And my stuff will all go to them free of charge. So if you have gently used clothes, consider taking them to a women's shelter, something I never thought of until it was brought to my attention.

Anyway, I hope to start writing more in my blog, I was away for quite awhile but I really needed to take a break. I don't want anything interfering with this time I get to spend with the grandkids. I am so fortunate that I can help my girls out in this way, and I get to brush up on my game skills, and we play a lot of games:)
