Working on things for the Country Market

I've been busy today getting things ready for the Country Market coming up at the end of the month. A lot of my things for sale will be the things that I have taken to Alter'd Relics, but I want to take advantage of this and bring as much stuff as I can.

The two things that sell well for me are my pillows and lampshades that I make using vintage and antique lace.

I got one pillow cover made today and a good start on a second one.

I bought a bunch of lace at the flea market this summer, I think I gave $1.00 per card.

start by sewing different laces to the front of the pillow.

I made a satin ruffle and stuck it in the center.

This one is done and waiting for a pillow insert.

This next pillow cover is for a 20" x 20" insert.

I'm just going to cover it with old doilies and see how it looks, I'm flying by the seat of my pants on this one!

You just never know what people want, I am not a doily person, but I have so many that I have accumulated over the years and hopefully I can get rid of them this way.
I'll only make one with doilies to see how it goes.

It's not finished yet, it needs more, but this is as far as I got today.

I am also making another lampshade using doilies, it's almost finished and I love how it looks so far! I will share pictures of it soon, but here's a sneak peak:

Hahaha! Not much to see yet:)

  1. You have been very busy!! Hope you sell everything.

  2. Just a thought for your doilies---have you seen the table runners made from doilies? Or what about a burlap runner with doilies sewn on?? It might be a way to use up your inventory of supplies. Have fun with it!! See you in a couple of weeks! :I can't wait to see you again. :)

    1. I have seen those doilie runners on Pinterest, I can certainly do that! Thanks Deb!

I would love to hear from my readers, I need input so I can post things that interest you. Questions encouraged:)
