Prayers for Pappy

Here we are, sitting in a motel room heading back to Iowa to be with my father-in-law who is ill. He's 87 years old and has been in the hospital having tests done to find the source of the pain he's been in.

We just got home from a wonderful family vacation 11 days ago, to a phone call that our Pappy wasn't doing so well.

This is all to familiar to us because four years ago, in August, we had just gotten home from a wonderful family vacation and got a phone call that my mother-in-law was ill. Within days she was gone.

Pappy's diagnosis didn't turn out well today, so all we can do now is keep him comfortable. The Dr. said he has only months left. These are hard words to hear and what makes it worse is that we live so far away from him. We will spend time with him for the next couple of days. Give him love and find out our next step to take.

Please keep our Pappy, my husbands father, my children's grandfather and my grandchildren's "Pappy" in your prayers.

  2. Oh, Rhonda; I'm so sorry to hear your news. Of course, there will be prayers, my friend. For you, Rick, and your family, but especially for comfort for Pappy.

    1. Thank you Nancy, my only wish is that we could be with him all the time now. It's so hard to be so far away
