Are you a list maker?

When I feel overwhelmed with all the things I have to do, my solution is to start making a "to do" list. Numbering them from one to however many projects I have, it gives me an idea of exactly what I have to do, and I get so much satisfaction from crossing something off the list when it's completed. And as silly as it sounds, it gives me motivation to start cracking!

It's time I make another "to do" list, I am starting to feel overwhelmed again. School is out for summer and that means that my time will be spread just a little thinner now that I will be on call to watch the grand kids while their parents are working. I love that job though, I can just forget everything and enjoy being a grandma:)

But summer also means that my list of things to do is growing, now that the weather is nice people get in the mood for change and I get hired to paint the interiors of their homes. I have several clients now waiting for me to make time for them.

Summer also means I get busier painting, refinishing, or repurposing all my flea market finds, I have several projects that I purchased last weekend that I can't wait to get started on. I'm not even going to post pictures until I'm ready to start them........you could be waiting awhile for the "after" shots!

I think this is why my summers seem to fly by so quickly, it is such a busy time for me. Not all of these jobs and projects are time consuming, I have a lot of little things that I need to do as well, so it just seems like a ton!

So, tomorrow I will make my list and get started crossing things off...........just to start another list!

Are you a list maker?

Before I go, I want to share a picture that Alter'd Relics posted on their Facebook page. Alter'd Relics is the cutest little shop that sells vintage/antique furniture and home decor, it's also the shop where I take just some of the things I paint or make or whatever! They grouped a lot of my things together and took this picture featuring Restored Treasures Too, I was thrilled when I saw it:)

I just had to share, they do such a wonderful job of making my furniture and lampshades look great!

  1. Listmaker? That's me! I agree, it helps make one feel so much less overwhelmed. I'm always afraid I'll forget something!
I have a lot of painting I should do here, but am having a hard time choosing colors. I also feel like i should tweak my kitchen a little, now that I've lived with it for a while. Lots to ponder...

    1. There are so many beautiful colors Nancy, it is hard to choose to find the right one. I usually find something that inspires me in my home and take it from there. I know I have a house full of cream, white & gray right now, but it does help if you have something like a pillow, rug, curtains or even a piece of art to draw from. I love making lists, lol, and it does help me to remember those little jobs that I know I'd forget if I didn't write it down!

  2. Oh Rhonda, me tooo! Never ending lists over here, and often several list at once that I have to combined to another because I have this habit of making notes to myself on scraps of paper where ever I am in my home when a thought comes to me.
If I don't have a list, I feel out of sorts and confused to am I forgetting something?

    1. I make lists when I'm shopping too, I'm always jotting down measurements for something, problem is I write them on my phone and my ipad only to discover that when I need my measurement it's at home on my ipad! Curses, I need lists telling me where my lists are! Thanks for the visit Cathy:)
