Recouping after a long weekend, and my next project

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! We had a full weekend with family, we celebrated our youngest daughters birthday on Sunday, had BBQ's, parade on Monday and after having four grandbabie's spend the night Sunday, I was dragging by the end of the day. We spent the whole weekend outside so I got a little sunburnt as a result! But it felt wonderful after being couped up all winter, that sun was just what the doctor ordered!

Saturday morning my husband and I went to the local flea market, there must have been over 200 vendors and it was packed! I did have a little luck, I found a couple of things for myself and a couple of things to resell. More on this later.

Then we went to the garden shop and bought a couple of bushes to replace the ones we lost on the east side of the house this winter. We dug out the old ones and planted the new ones, along with some bulbs we bought a couple of weeks ago. We still have several more to replace, but it's a start:)

This morning was spent cleaning the house, after having the kids here for three days.....it was pretty bad:)

I did have time to start on this little table today, it's pretty sad looking, but worth saving.

This little plant stand belonged to my husband's grandmother, then his mother had it sitting in her dining room, always with a plant on it. After my mother-in-law passed away my husband asked if I wanted the table. The top was warped so bad, he said he could replace it with a new one. But I knew I could save it, so we brought it home because I wanted it in my home next, then on to one of my daughters.

This is what the top looks like after I put clamps on it to straighten it out. Before the clamps, it was much worse.

After this picture was taken I fixed the top so it isn't warped at all. In my next post I will show you how you can fix a badly warped table top so......stay tuned!
