Great room furniture and my cost rundown

I must admit that the bulk of my budget for decorating was spent in the great room. We have some very large pieces in here, besides the upholstered furniture. I won't go in to how much those cost, with the exception of the wing back chair I bought at a steal.... then had it reupholstered:)

When I started my whole house redo, I sold a lot of my primitive furniture and accessories on eBay and made approximately $4,000.00 in the process, so keep that in mind when I tell you that it all went back into this transformation.

All of the decorative items that you see here are things that I have been buying over time at flea markets and junk shops. I think the only decorative item that I spent a normal price for is the dough bowl that I have hanging on my wall by the windows. I just had to have a dough bowl!

I bought this buffet at the antique shop just down the road from me, I just loved the detail and the size was perfect to set in the foyer. You can read more about that HERE

I bought this little corner cupboard years ago, before my blog, and I love it

I picked this coffee table up at a local antique shop, it was actually a small kitchen table but the size was perfect, we wanted a 36" x 36" square table to set here, so we just cut the legs down to make it work.
The rug was a bit of a splurge for me, but by most rug prices, especially due to the size that we needed (10 x 14) it was a super deal from Pottery Barn!

This table belonged in my uncle's family, a family of 12 sat around this table, he gave it to me years ago. It dates back to the late 1800's and has 5 leaves that extend to fit our whole family at holiday meals

My dining room chairs are a future project, I bought the slipcovers to hide them until I can get them painted and reupholstered............future post:)
I bought the table and 4 chairs off Craig's list, but I only needed the chairs to go with my antique table

This large cupboard sat in one of my favorite little shops down in Fredricksburg, Ohio. I painted some of my things and sold it to the shop I would admire this piece every time I visited. It was a display piece but I talked her into selling it to me. I used the money from the things that I sold in her shop to pay for it.

The entertainment unit that we bought in Shipshewana, story HERE

Very large china cupboard that I bartered for, read more about that HERE

Small desk that I bought at the flea market, I had my husband cut a hole in the back for the cords and we use it as our "charging" station! Out of sight:)

One of the 4 chairs that I bought at a second hand furniture store for and had reupholstered, read HERE to find out if it's cost effective to have a piece of furniture reupholstered and how to save a few extra dollars if you do the prep work yourself
