Just having a bad day, plus a sneak peak at the green bed

Yesterday I had one of those days, you know the ones where nothing goes right. Ughhh, first I had a problem with my fabric, one piece was about 2 inches to short, then I went out to wax my finished cream bed. In my defense this is only the second time I've painted with chalk paint and the first time waxing over chalk paint. After arming myself with tutorials on how to do this I thought I knew what I was doing. I rubbed the clear wax in really good like all the chalk paint bloggers instructed me to do, buffed it down good and immediately went over it with my antique wax....what a disaster! The wax was so dark that you couldn't even notice the painted detail that I had done on the bed. I was so bummed I can't even tell you! All that work and I ruined it, it was so dark and it was so streaked, no way did the finish look like something that would occur naturally. I think I used to dark of wax to begin with but I didn't know it would stick so well over the clear wax! I didn't even take a picture of it, it looked so bad! So I frantically looked online to see what I could do to save my beautiful bed. One site told me to wipe the stain back off using mineral spirits. So, this morning that is what I spent my time doing. My thought was to remove the wax and then have to repaint the whole bed, but I didn't have to thank goodness! The wax came off and what was left was the type of "antiquing" I had planned for the bed in the first place. A light touch just to make the bed look like it had naturally "yellowed" with some "crude" in the crevices! Bed is finished and I am happy that I didn't have to start from scratch. I will not share a picture of the finished bed just yet, I am waiting for the whole thing to dry good so I can bring it in the house for the "finished" photo shoot, it will be much prettier than taking pictures in my disgusting garage!

I did get started on the other bed and I just have one more coat of paint to put on one side tomorrow and that one will be done as well. So, I didn't get a chance to sew today, but I did decide that it's a better idea to get all of my painting done so I can set the pieces aside to await delivery. Then I can sit and sew in peace.

The green bed is just about done and I am loving it!
