Our weather here in Ohio has been a bit of a tease, Friday was beautiful, Saturday not so much, but Sunday made up for it and was sunny and warm as well. I had some errands to run on Friday and I had the windows open and the music playing, it felt so good to smell the fresh air and feel the sun on your face.
I was doing a bit of junking and fabric shopping, I needed to find the perfect fabric to make a skirt for a vintage vanity that I've had for about 2 years now. It's been sitting in the shed waiting it's turn to be restored into something fab! I was also looking for a small bench or chair to go with it, it's always better to have a complete set when you're reselling something. I wasn't worried about the chair matching the style of the vanity so much as I am the colors, I will paint the pieces so they go well together. I want this "set" to look a bit quirky with a Boho feel.
I stopped at my favorite used furniture store and sure enough, I found the perfect little chair to go with my vanity!
As you can see from the picture, it has the swing arms on it so that you can pull your chair up close while you're primping.
I am painting it for a little girls room, age 8-12, I think the fabric will be fun and the colors not so traditional. I was thinking of my own 11 year old grand daughter when I picked the fabric, I think it would be something that would suit her.
Not only did I find the perfect little chair, I also ran across two beds that were marked down 50% so I bought them both to paint and resell.
They're in pretty good shape, the one at the top clearly has some veneer issues but that's an easy fix. As long as they are sturdy I can work with them.
I got them all prepped for painting this morning but I will save the top bed for another post, to show you how it looks after removing the veneer.
Now, I need to decide on the colors. I want something fun I think, tomorrow I will go to the paint store and check out the colors to see which one speaks to me:)
So, now I have my work cut out for me. I am going to have to do these projects in stages because I'm working in my garage at the moment, my husband cranked up the heat in there so I could get some
I will keep you posted on the progress!
