A Vintage bed restored!

My cream colored "feminine" bed is all finished and I am so happy with it. After I botched the wax job I was ready to pull my hair out but with a little mineral spirits to take some of that dark wax off it turned out just as I had envisioned it. Don't sweat the small stuff right?!?

This is how the bed looked once I got it cleaned and sanded just a little. I know they say you don't have to sand your pieces when using chalk paint, but old habits die hard:)

Once I got the bed painted I added a little decorative element, those carved details on these beds are just asking for me to bring special attention to them.

I painted these carvings using a Bronze metallic craft paint

I then distressed it just a little and waxed with clear and followed with an antique wax

I had to add some decorative frames to showcase this bed for the "after" photos since I can't make it up with linens!

To be honest, I'm glad I flubbed with the wax, I think it turned out beautiful.

I hope some little girl (or big girl) will be very happy with her new bed.

I would love to hear what you think!
