Getting Christmas ready!

Well, I'm 3/4 done with my Christmas shopping, I got a lot done online yesterday but I have a few gifts that I just don't feel comfortable buying without seeing. I have a pile of sacks sitting in my bedroom and now I have to start wrapping them to keep curious eyes from snooping!

I got a lot of decorating done in the last three days, in between cleaning and stapling my little French chair! Now I just have to decide if I'm done or if I should just go ahead and get everything out. I don't have much left just a tree that goes in my sunroom that my husband and I are debating about. This tree is about 10 years old, I bought it when we lived in our small house in Stow, and since we moved into this house I just set it up in the sunroom. It sits crooked these days, it's branches are a little worse for wear and I told him that I think it needs to go. But....he wants me to decorate it one more year and then we can give it the old heave ho!!

So now, I wait until he can fix it so it stands up straight!

I also have my Christmas village to get out yet, it's my Currier & Ives village that I love but I really have no place to put it this year. I have displayed it under this tree, and I've set it in the window seat in Ricks' office, but this year I wanted it where I could see it. I would love to have a long piece of plywood cut so I can cover it and decorate it all up cute, but I never think of it until I need it. So, I guess I need to figure that out in the next couple of days.

Over the years I have simplified my decorating a little, before we moved here seven years ago we lived in a small house and I used to go all out for Christmas. I would put garland swags over every window and doorway, it looked beautiful but it took a lot of time. Now, as you know, I love decorating with white lights, white candles and just a little greenery. I have a tree in every room, big or small and I also have my Santa's and my village.

Anyway, I have a few days to decide what to do with my tree and my little village, then my house will be Christmas ready. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older and don't want to go to all the work, or if I truly like the simplified look. I think it's a combination of both!
