My Christmas Mantle

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! This is my favorite time of year as far as holidays go, and I'm sure everyone feels the same way. Christmas and Thanksgiving are my favorite holidays, Christmas because it's our Lord's birthday and Thanksgiving because it reminds me year after year how blessed I am, and also reminds me that I have so much to be thankful for.

Our two daughters and their families joined us for dinner, which consisted of two turkeys this year! My son-in-law bought a smoker this summer and needs to try it out every chance he gets! It turned out so juicy, a lot better than the one we roasted, so it was a huge hit. Along with the turkey we had the usual, potatoes & gravy, dressing, pumpkin pie along with a few other favorites. None the less, we ate a little too much and continued to eat too much until the leftovers were gone, which was last night!

So, on to the next business at hand........Christmas decorating! I had to get started today since we only have three weeks to enjoy our decorations this year, and I refused to put one Christmas decoration out until after Thanksgiving!

I did get a good start on it today, I got the trees up but not decorated, I can start that tomorrow once I get my cyber shopping done! There are a few gifts that I need to buy online tomorrow and just hope they get here before Christmas. My list is shrinking however, I only have the hard ones left, so I'll  venture out one more time to get them done, if I can't find what I need online. So much for my little freak out a week ago, I think I'm going to be just fine. One day at a time:)

I just wanted to share my decorated mantle with you tonight, this is my favorite part of Christmas decorating, besides the tree of course. My beautiful Nativity scene will always be the center of my fireplace mantle d├ęcor, but I try to change it out a little from year to year.

  1. I love it. I feel like everything I've up up so far is just thrown together. Give me time to look at it for a couple of days, then I might post pics, too! Happy Thanksgiving, Rhonda!
