Getting the basement ceiling done alas!

Well, I'm back at it, I have a job that needs to get done and that's my biggest motivation. Maybe it will kick start my motivation to get other jobs done that aren't of much importance, to which I have many.

We have been working on finishing our basement ceiling, a job that's been long overdue. We take things one step at a time around here and with my husband gone all the time for work, the steps are rather far apart! He travels a lot and the last thing he wants to do is work on the house when he gets home. He spends most of his free time working in the yard, but that is his hobby, and he loves to do it. So, I don't say anything, however, I am one that likes to get things done. I hate unfinished projects, ironic isn't it cuz I have so many!! But this is what happens with me, I get overwhelmed and I simply shut down. I didn't get much of anything done this year, but in my defense, it has been a very hectic year for us.

My husband and son-in-law, Jason got the grill hung and now it's my turn to paint it (done) and paint the ceiling tiles (all 64 parts and pieces). I'm over half way done though, it really doesn't take that long and it's not hard, it's just one of those jobs that you can't get done fast enough so you can enjoy the results!

This is the way we have been living with the basement for far too long!

The grid is hung.....

We have our bar finished......

Our son-in-law loves to help with DIY projects! So he says:)

And the hubby looks far too relaxed, guess he's overseeing!

I lay the tiles out in the garage and take a large very nappy roller to them

I am painting them a dark slate gray

Then I paint the grid to match, sorry this is such a bad picture, the lighting was bad.
I paint the ceiling grid with a small sponge roller and I use a foam brush to get up against the walls.

I promised that I would take pictures of my faux painting in the basement, some of you wanted to see it, but I really want to get the basement all put together before I do.

We have pictures that we have had in totes for quite awhile waiting for this moment, every time we saw something we wanted to hang in our bar room we would pick it up. I will be so glad to get rid of those totes as well!

Everything is coming together, once this is done we will only have one room left to do down there..........the bathroom!

Gees, wonder how long that will take:(
