Good morning to everyone! The weather has been gorgeous this past week and mowing the lawn has now started full force! My flowers and plants are starting to grow to fill in all the bare spots in my flower gardens. I am especially waiting for my beautiful pink Lilies to grow and bloom, they are so beautiful and I get to enjoy them for a few weeks before they start to die off. I have to get out and get some weeding done, so much to do, so little time.
Some days I wonder why I continue blogging, the time it takes me to finish a project to post about is getting longer and longer. As you know, my husband travels........a lot, and that means my responsibilities have grown in his absence, especially in the summer months. I have been working on several projects in the past couple of weeks, and trying to finish off another one that is in the last stages of completion. It's hard to focus on one thing when there is so much for me to do. My ADD kicks in and I am paralized with everything that needs to get done. There are a few jobs that we have planned on doing for the last couple of years but stuff keeps getting in the way, and again, I am feeling overwhelmed.
We have been wanting to paint the exterior of our house for 3 years now, but like I said, stuff gets in the way. I was pretty darn sure I was going to get that job started last weekend but something came up and I couldn't get started. I was so sure that I went and bought the paint & brushes, certain that we would be finishing up this weekend.........not!
Anyway, you ALL know where I'm coming from, just not enough weekends in the year. I am not complaining by any means, just trying to justify why I haven't been posting lately.
Just so you are all witness to this.......I have been promised that we are getting the painting done on Memorial Weekend.........that will be awesome though, at least it means that I won't be painting the majority of the house all by myself!
Oh, and here is what I have been working on last week whenever I get a chance:
A Pennsylvania Dutch inspired chest to sell on Etsy........
This is what the box looked like when I purchased it, but I loved the shape, and it was in excellent condition and knew it could be painted up nice. I will keep you posted, it is almost finished!
