How I paint that tall peak in the great room all by myself!

Since I got back from vacation I have been working on  all those little jobs  that I kept putting off. I love it when I can work on something til the end but sometimes we get side tracked and then it's hard getting back on track, even though you know all it takes is a few minutes to get them finished. I am getting so anxious to move on to other things that I was detemined to get this stuff done this week before I could start on anything else.

Today I am finishing up the last  job which was to paint the peak in our great room and I can only do this when my husband is home, not to help paint, I just need someone around in case I fall off the ladder!!

When I repainted the inside of the house a couple of years ago I painted the whole living area Antique White except for the foyer, sunroom, and the peak in the great room, I had the brilliant idea to paint those areas a really pale olive green and after I got it all done I realized, although it did look very nice, it did limit me to other color options in the house. So I decided to REpaint those areas the Antique White also, to give me the option to introduce any color in my house. This is it, I will be done and it's going to be awhile before I paint it again! But I am so much happier with it now.

I just thought you would get a kick out of how I manage this all by myself...

I'm only 5'2" on a good day so this is a long way up!

Good thing I'm not afraid of heights

I tape my brush on the end of a yardstick to reach that peak

See how slick this works! I had to do this when I painted the area above the steps going down into the basement too.

It does take some concentration!

Hanging on for dear life by leaning into the ladder.... I got this!

 Where there's a will there's a way!

Lol! Yup, who needs a man to do a woman's work! It's just handy to have him around in case you loose your footing!!!

ooohhh... I hate heights. Can you believe I passed PE without ever climbing that GD rope of Ma Kass'?!
    You're a brave soul, Rhonda!

  2. Lol! I shimmied up those ropes with no problem! I think I'm half monkey!

I would love to hear from my readers, I need input so I can post things that interest you. Questions encouraged:)
