Decorating my front porch for Spring/Summer

The weather has been all over the place in northeast Ohio, hot one day, cold the next, cold and rainy, and today we have cool and sunny! I just wish it would make up it's mind, but I shouldn't least we didn't get snow!

As you know, I got a little ahead of myself I guess, and went shopping for new things for our front porch. It was hot out (80 degrees!) on the day I decided to go, so I got caught up in the moment! The next day it got cold, windy and rainy so I decided to wait to decorate. Today, I did it, I decorated the porch and I really like how it looks. Not too much, just something to make it look welcoming. Once you get things put together it gives you an idea if there is something missing. And I think I need to find a rug to put under the settee, something that "anchors" the space. And, it will not be complete until I get to the nursery to buy some flowers because it needs some color now.

For outdoor decor items I go to Gabriel Bros. I'm not sure where they get their decorating merchandise but they sell clothes that are less than perfect at a very low price. I shop for things other than clothes at "Gabe's". I don't like spending a lot of money on things that will be sitting outside in the elements and this store is perfect for that.

I bought the three pillows for $5.00 each, the pillow forms alone cost more than that if I made them myself. I had been looking for lanterns for a couple years, I couldn't find any that didn't break the bank. These were $12.00 each! Everything else were things that I already had.

This weekend I will look for an outdoor rug but the flowers will have to wait!

What do you think?

Oh yeah, I can see us now, lounging on your porch with glass in hand! It looks warm and welcoming, Rhonda, and I agree about the rug. Perfect touch!

I hope we get to put some things out this weekend, after we get back from Ryan's college graduation.

  2. Lol! Nancy I can't wait until the evenings are a little warmer so we can enjoy our wine on the front porch! It's one of Rick's and my favorite thing to do, we have some great conversation on this front porch!

I would love to hear from my readers, I need input so I can post things that interest you. Questions encouraged:)
