Finishing the bar is complete, now for the details!

Sorry I haven't been posting lately, you know what I've been doing! Well, I got the last coat of poly on the bar yesterday and now we are ready to pour an epoxy over the bar surface, hopefully we can get that done this weekend. We have never worked with epoxy before so we are a little nervous, especially given all the hard work Rick put into building the bar..............and all the time it took me to finish it, oh please don't let us mess this up now!!!

After we get the epoxy poured the next step is to clean the concrete good so I can paint it. Then I can send some photos, no sense in showing photos now, it doesn't look much different from the last photos I posted except now it has a beautiful finish:)

You know it has taken us a long time to complete this project, mainly because my husband travels A LOT for work, but also because we had too many irons in the fire when we started this project. My husband and I work well together and it gives us a great sense of accomplishment when we do projects together like this.  There were times where we didn't work on it for months, like before Christmas, just because there were so many other things to do. But when we got home from our annual Iowa trip, we were determined to get it done before Spring, and I think we are going to make it! It has been fun, even though I hated that we had to track saw dust in everytime we cut a board or sheet of plywood and bring it through the main living area of the house. Or sanding and sanding and sanding and praying that the vacuum we had hooked up to the sander would keep the dust from filtering through the whole house. It is a good job done that is for sure and I can't wait to show you pictures of the end result, but there is still a few things left to do and I don't want to bore you with the day to day.

I seriously can't wait until I can move on to a new project!
