Meanwhile........two more pieces for the great room!

I painted for 2 1/2 hours today out in our garage but the cold just took over! Our garage is heated but the heater hangs from the ceiling and I can't reach it to adjust the temp! I was wearing two pairs of socks and I was painting with gloves on!! Guess that shows you just how bad I want to get this done! I need to get it done so I can put all this stuff away that is waiting to go on top of it! And that big "R" needs a home! I wanted to tell you that the big open space that I purchased the "R" for was going to have to stay bare until I found just the right thing to put up there. Well, my neighbor called me the other night, she wanted me to see this tobacco basket that she bought to hang on her guest bedroom wall. Not only did she want me to see it, she asked me if I would take it if her husband wouldn't let her hang it up! Well, guess what! I bought the basket for $20.00 to take it off her hands! So that is what's going up in that bare space, I hope it looks good or I will be on the search again! Another thing I have been searching for is a large clock for my kitchen/dining/great room. I wanted it to be big because, there again, my space is big and because I am through junking up what little wall space I do have with shelves to house knick/knacks. I have been searching and searching and low and behold all I had to do was google "clocks" and there it was! A 23" rustic clock and it cost me a lot less that I thought it would. Like I told you before, save your money up and buy pieces that are going to make a statement in your room! A large wall unit........a large clock.........a large tobacco basket, I think that just about does it for my "statement pieces!" I will post pictures when I get all this stuff and get it in place.......be patient, it's darn cold out there!

If you aren't familiar with tobacco baskets, they use to use these to dry the tobacco on them years ago. The do make wonderful pieces to decorate with and take up a considerable amount of space.

And this is the clock that I just ordered online! This one only cost me $30.00 so that is a bargain compared to some I've seen!
