Bartering your talents saves huge $$$$

I had a wonderful last two days spending time with family, and I was exhausted yesterday after taking care of two little ones! But it was so nice spending time with my two youngest grandchildren just playing and bonding!

I thought this would be a good time to tell you about another way that I have acquired my huge pieces of furniture! Old fashioned bartering is a great way to share your talents!

I met this young man at a Fall show at one of the shops I used to sell to, he made the greatest Primitive furniture I had ever seen! We got to talking and found that each of us had a love for early american and primitive pieces and decided to share our talents! Actually I made him two floor cloths, one for his dining room and one for his son's bedroom. Both floor cloths were large, 8 x 10's, and can run into some serious cash if you have to purchase them and so can a king sized four poster bed, night stand and large pewter cupboard! I think the pewter cupboard would have cost me anywhere from $900.00-$1,200.00 to buy and same for the bed. Those large floor cloths can run into that kind of money as well depending on the difficulty of the pattern chosen and the fact that they hard to make.

The little nightstand was something he threw in because he thought I was getting the raw end of the deal!

I painted this large floor cloth for..............

This great china hutch

And I painted this floor cloth for this...............

awesome 4-poster king size bed and.....

I got this little nightstand as a bonus
