Tutorial on how I made my Christmas tree skirt!

Here is the twin coverlet that I bought on eBay. I laid it out flat...

folded it half......

folded it in half again......

I tied a heavy string on the end of my marking pencil.....

Put one end of the string on the folded edges (always on the folded edges)...

place the pencil with the string attached to the end of the unfolded side....

keep the string as tight at you can with your left hand and start making your circle to the other corner....

You can barely see the line that I drew.

Cut along your line.......

and there you have it......

a perfect circle!

Then I opened up the circle and laid it flat again and took a jar lid and placed it in the center....

outline the lid......

and here is circle for the middle of the Christmas tree skirt.

Cut from the outside edge to that circle......

cut out the middle.....

and there you have it! Now you just need to finish the raw edges. I sewed mine, and I think that would be the easiest because it is a circle. I only turned it under once because the fabric was so heavy I didn't want the edges to "ruffle" anymore than they would.

And here is my beautiful Christmas tree skirt! It is a large one, 73" in diameter! As large as one of the table clothes I showed you in an earlier post. And it only cost me $20.00!

It has got a gorgeous pattern, reminds me of that dresser I just painted! Now, I need to have my hubby help putting up the tree so I can use it! This post will be continued!
I didn't even notice how similar the pattern was until I posted these pictures!
