Welcome to my Christmas home!

Well, I have finally decided to call my Christmas decorating finished for the year. The photo at the top is a picture of our great room with the main tree in it, the one with the silver and gold ornaments. I have some sort of tree in every room upstairs, small or large. I have chosen to go with cream, silver and gold because of the neutral colors that I painted in my house. I had a lot of red in past years (I still have some red Santa's in the master bedroom, some things hold too many memories) but I thought it was time for a change and I am happy I did! This year my home seems more festive for the wonderful season that it is..........Jesus birthday! The house just glows with all the candles lit against the gold and silver, just how I invisioned it! I want you to know that I did not spend a lot of money on this whole Christmas decorating redo because, as you know, I am frugal:) I just took the red away, buy repainting existing ornaments and adding glass glitter for some sparkle! I did purchase some clear glass candle holders and white and cream colored candles that are on top of the fireplace mantle and I also found two neutral colored Santa's at the Okoboji flea market that we shopped at in September, those cost a grand total of $13.00! I tied gold ribbon that I already had around my large glass container that sits on my coffee table and I wrapped my gifts with color coordinated paper and tied them with gold and silver ribbon to make them part of my decor! I went around and took pictures of my home to feature on my blog today.

This tree is our family tree. I put this tree in my husbands office every year. The only thing that I have on this tree are ornaments that our daughters and grandchildren have made for us, some are over 30 years old!!

This little Charlie brown tree is in the master bedroom, I have a few of my Santa's from my collection sitting around it
Tiny tree in our guest bathroom
This tree sits in the sunroom with my Currier & Ives village sitting around it!
Tiny feather tree in the pantry

I set my Santa's on the buffet along with this picture I made years ago!
Burlap is used as the runner on the dining table (in it's previous life it was a Christmas tree skirt!)
And of course, our Nativity scene

There you have it, I am already looking for new Christmas ideas for next year so I can go to the after Christmas sales and buy the materials on sale! They will be things that I will be making and things that you can make too! I will still be featuring a few ideas to use this season, but for now my decorating will have to be done!
