Christmas tree skirts made with table cloths & coverlets

My quest to find an inexpensive Christmas tree skirt has had my brain working overtime! I have been to the fabric shops over and over and I just couldn't find the fabric I needed for the look that I wanted. Not to mention that I have a nine foot tree and I need one large enough to balance out the height. I have a beautiful matte lasse bedspread that I am bidding on Ebay and there is an hour left, it is exactly what I had my heart set on to make my tree skirt with. If I don't win it I have some other options that I want to share with you. As you know, tree skirts can get really expensive and they never have what I'm looking for anyway. The ones you see in the stores are either really cheap looking or they are very gawdy. I want something simple that looks expensive, I love everything I see in these high end catalogs that I won't mention the name of but would never pay those prices! So, here is my solution........round table cloths! Here are some examples that I think would make beautiful skirts underneath your tree, but first let me show you the coverlet I am hoping to get!
This is the matte lasse coverlet I am bidding on! I wanted a solid ivory color with some sort of a pattern so I thought this would be perfect!

My only fear is that it will be so pretty I won't want to cut it up! I was looking for one with a round pattern but I wasn't able to find one so I hope this one will look OK. I'll keep you posted and let you know if I get it!

I love this one! I found it on Pinterest and I think this is what I want to do with mine! How adorable would this be in my antique white house! I can't wait to make one!
