A Rufus Porter style mural!

This is one of the murals that I painted for a customer a few years ago. My customer lived in an old home with beautiful primitive antiques and wanted one wall in her bedroom painted with a Rufus Porter style mural. I had already painted a mural on all four of her bathroom walls so she invited me back to paint another one.
I use acrylic paints from the hobby shop and free hand it all. I do have stencils that I can use if I need to, but it's quicker and easier if I just paint it myself.

This is what it looks like in the beginning of the painting process. She wanted me to paint her home, the way it looks now, in the middle of the mural. That's the start of her red home in the middle, right behind the headboard.

This is the finished project? You can see her home if you click on the picture, it will bring it closer to you so you can see the detail.

After I finished painting the mural, I rubbed a burnt umber glaze over the entire wall to give it an antique look. This mural took me about four days to complete.

I've only painted three murals of this type, but I love doing it if it doesn't require scaffolding!! I've done that before and it is a little scary!
