A lot of times I do have a list of things that I am looking for when I go to the flea market, but alot of times I don't find anything on the list and plenty that aren't! I do have one rule when I decorate my home, take it when you can get it! If you see something you've always wanted buy it when you see it, if you don't you may not get another chance! The things on your list will still be there the next time around! That's how I got my rope bed that sits in my guest bedroom. It was something I had always wanted but I thought it was out of my price range. I love this bed and it's sits in my guest bedroom! You never know what you are going to find when you least expect it! By the way, my bed cost me $80.00, some new feet and a little elbow grease! Also when I'm shopping I don't go to the booth and make a bee line for the item I'm interested in! I mosey over to look around, walk away, and mosey back over again and ask if he can do better on his price. If he says "no" I walk away again and 99% of the time they will give you a better deal if they think they are going to lose a sale! Another good thing to look out for are reproductions. Look the piece over good, look for repairs and signs of wear. I found a great little spice cupboard once, it looked old and the price indicated that it was old until I opened it's drawers and saw that it's construction told me otherwise. Paying cash for an expensive item may lead to a discount. Also rain, heat and a slow flea market also affect the prices in your favor! 5 days and counting until our flea market opens for the season!
