Paige's "big girl" room!
This is the room I painted for Paige when she graduated from her Safari room! My daughter bought this beautifully colorful quilt and sheet set as our inspiration and that was the biggest expense of the room. The bed, dresser/mirror, and corner cupboard that you see in this room came from a second hand shop. You can't see it in the picture but we got a cute little wicker bedside table from the second hand shop as well. I think the total cost of this furniture was under $200.00. Together we repainted everything to go in this vibrant room! I made the curtains to match using the top sheet (since they don't use top sheets) and an inexpensive white fabric. Carrie chose the bright colors because Paige is such a bright girl!!! She is a punky brewster type, very colorful little girl and we wanted the room to reflect that. The photos here do not lie, the room is this bright! I free-handed a quirky line around the top of the ceiling to bring the ceiling color down a little to form a border. The colors all come from the quilt, and the flowers you see painted on the walls here and there mirror the ones in the sheets. Notice the "art" above the bed, Paige painted that for her new room, I think she was 3 at the time. A great piece she will always have! I strongly urge you to decorate your childs room in a manner that reflects the type of personality that child has! It's fun and we won't have to change it for a long time cuz Paige will always be Paige! And I wouldn't want it any other way!
