Be brave and paint stripes for a dramatic look without spending a fortune!
I do have my other mirror that I want to show you and Rick and I have got the mirror attached to the frame we are just waiting for it to dry good so we can attach some molding around the front of the mirror for extra support. It looks great so far and I can't wait to show it to you. This post is about an idea for a paint treatment for your walls. Paint is the most effective way to get a beautiful room without a lot of money. I can't say that this is an easy look to achieve but if you are brave enough, the results are worth it. My daughter and her husband did this to their dining room walls and the look is very dramatic. First they painted the walls with a flat deep red paint, Jason then taped off stripes and then went over the striped area with a satin paint of the same color. The room is beautiful with the red and with the two finishes of paint it gives the walls a wonderful two-tone affect. Theirs is the red room and you will have to notice the drapes that I made for Carrie as well:) I also have a picture of my other daughters half bath that she did in stripes, I featured it earlier in my blog but I wanted to include another photo so you can see what she chose for her window treatment in that room. Hers is the picture of the floral roman shade and it is absolutely darling I must say! The other pictures here are just more stripe ideas you can do with paint. The gold room has a glaze rubbed over it to give it an old world look. There are so many different things you can do with paint and I will show you more as time goes on.
