Cinnamon Ornaments

Well, it seems we are all snowed in right now and the kids are all home on snow vacations! Here is an economical ornament idea that they can do with a little help from you! These Cinnamon Ornaments not only look great but they will make your home smell wonderful during the holidays! Here's what you need: 1 cup applesauce 1 1/2 cup of cinnamon (I use the 1.30 brand for these ornaments) 1/3 cup of white glue cookie cutters drinking straw (or something to make the hole with) colored ribbon Mix everything up together in a bowl, make sure it is completely blended. Then form into a ball and stick in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Sprinkly cinnamon on a cutting board and roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick (no thinner or the ornaments will break easily). Cut with cookie cutters, use the straw to make the hole at the top for hanging. Let them air-dry before stringing them up. You will be able to see when they are dry, they start turning a little lighter in color. These look great on the tree, or in a bowl with some greenery, you can even have the kids decorate them! Have fun and stay warm and safe!
